fiverr transcribing route, interesting! I never have thought of this before.

TED videos tend to have exact transcripts on YouTube.

Sometimes if you're lucky, the videos you want to translate might already have English subtitles!

I started studying Norwegian (inspired by your Easiest Languages for an English Speaker to Learn vid) and one of Duolingo's early phrases was "Og du er?" It made me think of Frozen and Olaf's introduction to Anna and Kristoff. I looked up the phrase, "Hei, jeg er Olaf og jeg liker varme klemmer" just from those three words.

I’ve found that for more niche topics, finding the Wikipedia article for the thing I want to learn about then seeing if the article has a translation into my target language has given me better results than google translate.

Use the language learning with YouTube add on and this will be free.

Brilliant idea.
Wondering if my favourite book is written in Norwegian 🤔
I have just started a journal which I’m committing to doing everyday, even if all I put in it is the day, month, weather and what kind of day I have had, hopefully I will be able to write more as I learn more of the language.
I can at least mutter rude comments under my breath now & no one in the office understands, although they can understand the sentiment sometimes 😂

Turns out that "memes" is a universal word...

Thankfully, with French it's not so much of a problem trying to find resources. Indonesian on the other hahahaha

What about pressing the three dots next to the share button and activating the transcript thats built in, or is that not quite the same?

This is what I do and have been recommending to others

YouTube automatically transcribes. You just have to be in a computer then one of the lower buttons re writes everything I’m French. You won’t have to pay anyone. You could also just turn on captions if you need help with the sounds

Great Video Olly I liked the different format, more casual walking around hehe..

One question I am finally at a level in French where I can read things I like(self-development books) and I am enjoying each chapter finished, but what should I do with the unknown words? Should I wait for the spaced repetition of the book itself to show me this word over and over? Should I go back after finishing the book just for exposing myself again to these words specifically? What is your advice?

I maybe nitpicking here, but which language is the transcript in, the new language or your native language?

How do I find news that is not leftist-globalist? I want to find info in Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages that is conservative and populist in nature.

This is so simple and profound. It's the most interesting idea I've come across this week! What better way to language than by harvesting that interest to use as fuel to learn French. Thank you.
