The reason she shouldn't be on the bow of that boat is because she could be severely cut up or killed by the propeller as the boat travels on top of her after falling in the water within 1 to 2 seconds. It has happened to people before and many states have laws in place against sitting on or leaning over the bow as the boat is moving forward. The inlet has been known for presenting a dangerous situation out of the blue so it is just not a wise thing to do there even though the woman appears to be relaxing and having a wonderful time. For people who know the danger of bow riding and know the laws concerning it would more likely not partake in doing such a thing. Then after thinking about, some people are gonna do what they wanna do no matter how dangerous it is or how it is against the law. Best we can do is warn them if they don't know and remind the one's that do know and simply let them be.

Never add 400 pounds to the bow of your small vessel.

She figured it out! She beat the system! That's the steadiest vessel to have ever entered the inlet. Smooth and level. Countered the effect of every wave.

She was the reason the boat remained steady 😅

My dad has been a watermen since before I was born. His number one rule is nobody is on the bow of the boat while its in motion. I always listened and have passed that rule onto my kids and they know better.

My aunt was sitting on the bow once and and the wake of another boat threw her off. She had a huge chunk of flesh ripped out of her thigh because she had her leg wrapped around one of the cleats. Don't sit on the bow and always watch out for the tie down cleats.

From what I’ve seen in the videos, you do absolutely anything you want in haulover inlet.

1971 Motor Vessel Safety Act made it a violation of Federal Law for anyone to sit on the bow of a vessel with appendages extended over the side. The operator of said vessel can be criminally charge or arrested for allowing the activities in this video. I'm a Coast Guard veteran. Retired Licensed small vessel captain/ deep sea Merchant Marine Sailor.

Don't matter if you're standing, sitting, laying... the bow is dangerous & should absolutely be off-limits when the boat's in motion. Before I met my, now ex husband, him & 3 buddies went boating. My ex fell off the bow & the boat went right over him 😳 After being hit by what he thought was the bottom of the boat, as it passed over him, he popped up behind the boat. His friends helped him back into the boat, asking if he was ok. Other than light pressure in his 'nether regions' he said he was ok. Within minutes, blood began to pool where he sat, and the guys all noticed simultaneously.😮 They immediately turned the boat around & headed back to their truck. They helped my ex into the back of the Ford Bronco, having him kinda curl up and lay in his side. As two of his friends trailered the boat, even though he was really embarrassed, he asked the 3rd to have a look 'below', because now being out of the cold water, terrible pain had set in & the bleeding became much worse. Upon inspecting my ex's injury, his friend gasped & yelled at the others to hurry TF up, so he knew it was bad. The guys rushed him the hospital, where he was immediately taken into emergency surgery. When he'd fallen off the boat, he landed in the water on his back. The boat therefore went over the front side of his body. The propeller had struck him in such a way, it completely cut though his perineum, from one end to the other, essentially like an episiotomy. The propeller had hit & bruised his male bits, but missed slicing them ONLY BY A HAIR. He spent a week or so in the hospital, afterwards being released with an inflatable donut, pain meds, and instructions on sitz baths. Everything healed fine 😊 We went on to have 3 beautiful daughters together. Even though our marriage ended in divorce when his cruel violent side reared its ugly head while i was expecting our our 3rd child, there was one thing he was really exceptional about... After the birth of each of our babies, he was very sympathetic, uber helpful, and totally babied me. Wonder why?! 🤔 😂

Captains, the people aboard are your responsibility! Stop allowing bow riding in rough seas!

Don't ride on the bow... As fun as it may seem.

Rule of thumb, don’t have anyone who displaces more water than your hull riding on the bow.

She’s comfortable in her own skin which is more than can be said about a lot of us.

There's a reason some boats don't have seats in the front.... There's also a reason some folks shouldn't own a boat.
