Pond season! starting with White cloud minnows now during the cooler spring season to get the tubs started. In summer I'll bring them back inside when it gets warmer and put guppies out there. When it gets too hot, I have portable umbrellas that I attach to the stock tanks to shield from direct sunlight, as I don't really have a shaded area in my backyard. Some solar powered water pumps to keep the water moving a bit, and to splash some water about for gas transfer, and underwater plants (hornwort), and marginal plants along the border... (creeping jenny, impatiens). Thinking of going for more aesthetic this year, less emphasis on breeding, but more emphasis on a nice garden like environment for the fish. If they do breed, even better

To cover your ponds. Try one quarter inch hardwire mesh. That should work well and strong enough. It's what I been using. Let me know what you end up doing to cover the pond.

Please do tubs. It’s my favorite season. I love when you did a weekly update videos on your tubs. As for the top of my tubs. I use window screens weighted down on the sides by 1x1 wood.

I had no idea you had so many videos on the topic....i just bought a 25 gallon tub today i bought it with the plan of going to try and grow some plants in it outside to sell on ebay etc. (Im in north jersey). Have been doing research all day because then I started to get into the idea of doing guppies or rice fish in it outside but Im planning for it to be on my deck and for my first time doing it it may just be easier to go plants only...going to buy some substrate this week for it and I want to get one of those solar powered pumps to keep the water moving

Got our rice fish ponds going on this year (converted garden planters), so far so good! (apparently we can keep them out all year even in frozen conditions according to a UK pond guy we follow, will try but worries me in the winter, hopefully works but will bring a few in just to be sure we don't lose everything). We totally revamped the fish room/garden with new fish and new tanks, dunno if you would be interested in us sending you another tour to publish on your channel at some point? Completely changed up everything! Side note have you heard of the OMAD diet, been trying this a couple of months and the weight is DROPPING off me. What it involves is eating WHATEVER and as much as you want but for only ONE hour per day, the rest of the time your fasting but for me its working GREAT in terms of both losing weight and enjoying as much takeaway and wine as you want (for that one hour). Dunno if your interested in that Mike but thought i'd share!

Love the ponds, ps, those things (the black containers with the yellow lids) won’t bow with the 27 gallon size, I use 4 of them every year for goldfish fry even with the hot sun they haven’t bowed and I’m going in my 4th year and they stay up year round between my basement and back yard. 38, and 55 bow a ton
