The man dubbed 'Putin's chef' has overnight become Russia's enemy no.1 with Kremlin accusing him of leading an armed mutiny against Russia

He is as controversial as he is powerful, benefitting from his proximity to Russian President Vladimir Putin

He started out as a chef, ran a bunch of restaurants before getting close to Kremlin. Now he has profited from getting multiple government contracts over the years and controls a network of influential companies

He has also been convicted in Soviet Russia and has seen jail time too.

He has been accused to setting up the IRA or Internet Research Agency, that was accused of setting up troll farms and of interference in the 2016 US elections.

He has been sanctioned by the US and the European Union

But what makes him an even bigger headache now for Russia is the Wagner Group that he set up

Wagner is a mercenary group that has had the backing of the Russian state for pushing forth in Ukraine... hiring even prisoners and convicts to join its ranks

Wagner has the reputation of being a brutal, ruthless set of fighters who have been accused of torture, executions and human rights violations.

The group is a private military contractor that has also seen action in Syria and Libya besides Ukraine

The latest trigger for Prigozhin to turn against the Russian military is his allegation that Russia bombed a Wagner camp in Ukraine that led to heavy casualties.

Tensions between him and the Russian military have only been escalating with Prigozhin taking to social media multiple times to publicly air his accusations against the heads of Russian military and defence.

In a video he released he also accused the military of misleading Putin into the Ukraine war
