Here it finally is; the desk setup/studio I've been building throughout all of 2020!

For all of you OG subscribers, you'll remember the video that kickstarted my channel back in 2014 was a desk setup in this same very small room. Things have changed and progressed a lot since then and I'm extremely proud of the improvements Elly and I have made over the last year. It's really come together into a studio space that I love spending a lot of time in, and feel comfortable filming in from almost any angle.

It's a hefty video with a lot of products, but I hope you enjoy the build and final setup of everything — here's to a productive 2021!

Oh wow, a room that small but packed full of useful additions and well thought out setup - I never realized it was not only such a small room, but also one where TWO of you pack into it.

Larger rooms are a bit of a cursed blessing, or double edged sword - our living room is about 4.5m x 5.2m, and we wind up changing at least something every six months or so. Thankfully, we feel it's finally getting closer to how we want it. Sure doesn't take long for two triple monitor computer areas, several miniature painting areas (first is dedicated airbrushing area with exterior exhaust, second is an assembly and longer term project area that's being expanded Q1 2021, and the third is my "main" painting area), a turntable djing setup, a 2x3m gaming table, extra flop/nap/bookreading space (currently an older mattress, but will be upgraded to a Jaxx 7.5' beanbag lounger eventually) and book storage (as well as gaming terrain storage) sure chew up that space rather quickly. Then again, it's a one bedroom apartment, so pretty much everything has to go into the living room.

Wish my desk was that tidy though, it's still a... We'll go with artistic rendition of controlled chaos.

Joe that particular green is one of my faves, it’s literally one of my brand colours. And I’d seen that wall in your livestreams and wondered about the texture. Thanks for explaining what it was! It’s absolutely GORGEOUS! Great desk setup video, I’ve been working on an IKEA dressing table due to it being narrow enough for the room it’s in, but I really need a longer and deeper desk. This was super helpful.

Awesome video, Joe! Nice to see how all the teasers on IG stories came together into a really nice room for both work and entertainment. 
I have only been subscribed since late 2016 BUT your old desk setup videos made me stick around back then. Plus it was also your street and travel photography videos that got me into photography, taught me a lot AND kept me motivated. 
Let's hope 2021 will be a better year for all of us so that we can travel and meet other people again. Cheers!

If you can, putt metal blinders on the outside of your office window. They will block heat from the sun from entering the room in the summer. Having them on the inside, stops light, but not heat. I have them on my bedroom window, and keeps the room fairly cool in the summer.

I like this set up quite a lot, even though I would not make mine to be the same as yours. Yours is setup for streaming and editing. I do plan to make videos soon, but not live content. I've learned a lot about software and hardware integrations (like the Scarlet Focusrite and audio channels). I'm also curious about the top oil you used. The texture of the desk is very important to me. We're all PhD's of home setups after this year of covid, but it feels like you actually get use out of your space, unlike many other 2020 cookie cutter setups.

You have a similar size room as I do, but what we rarely see in these kind of videos is the power supply set up. Being a small room, I only have two sockets so trying to run everything safely and effectively off these can be a challenge. Would have liked to have seen that side too.
