This is the first time I’ve seen a home in California that seems like it’s reasonably priced. Lots of space, amazing view, huge garage, and land? Makes me think there is something wrong with the foundation/hillside it sits on.

I bought my house in the midwest for $250, 000. It’s 3000 sqft, was only a few years old at the time, beautiful wooded view of the valley below and in a moderately populated city. This same house in California costs $5-8M. It’s crazy. But $20M for this seems completely fine. If I had the cash and everything checked out I’d buy it, hold it, and flip it down the road when we’re not in a pandemic and the economy recovers. Not sure how a place like this isn’t $35M minimum.

It's weird how easily people can be brainwashed into seeing L.A. as a beautiful city. As far as cityscapes go, L.A. has a TERRIBLE view in comparison to other cities.
Why pay so much to look at a city that looks like that?

That house in the middle of a dark sight with no one else for miles would be better. Being reminded all the time that you're surrounded by other human beings kinda ruins it for me.

In Las Vegas, we have something akin to this neighborhood called DragonRidge. I drove in the construction entrance in my firebird while they were still building most of the houses. I just slowly drove around and saw all the HUGE caisons and foundations being poured. #7-8 rebar in 12" thick concrete vertical monolithic walls and 4-6' diameter columns. OMFG! The ginormous amount of extra reinforcement and embankment shoring that went into every single house. They all were like three tiered monstrosities since the horizontal property depth was maybe at most 100' and maybe 300' width. I imagine that each place needed builtin elevators (sorry Jordan) or some other style of ADA setup. Could see the whole Las Vegas Valley. I was contemplating some inclined roads as possible necking parking spots, but alas, you need to get through the security gate normally. Plenty of free scenic spots elsewhere in the valley, but man was the view swick.
