Paul: one thing that would have been nice when you were when you are comparing lenses especially when the advantage of one went over the other is a difference in temperature in either direction, would be the show the fully open or fully closed aperture whichever one you are trying to demonstrate of both of them side-by-side. With this demonstration, it would be interesting to see the visual between the 18-55 lens open to f/3.5 and compared to the Nifty Fifty at f/1.8.

Thanks so much for this first camera was my father's old Canon with a 50mm lens.(1965). I loved that camera and still have it but haven't used it for years since digital took over. So when I saw you talking about the Nifty Fifty I was so excited to hear about this lens! It's being delivered today and I can't wait to put it on my my new Canon Rebel T7 that I got for my birthday....it will be like going home again!!!! Hi Paul, Once again Great Video ... One question or request, do you have any video where comparison is shown between the pictures taken from nifty fifty vs the 50 mm adjustment done out of normal 18-55 lens. Had that comparison been added to this video, it would've been great...

I just wanna say I took your advice and practiced hard with the RF version of this lens. Mainly just used it on my canon Rp for the last 6 months. I’m now working with so many clients. I have a a magazine shoot coming up. A feature. I’ve booked a wedding and engagement photos. And even some family portraits and product photography! Thanks for all your advice !

I received my new YONGNUO YN50MM F1.8 for my Nikon D3400 and still learn how to shoot with. Yes i know that is the cheap equivalent of the original Nikkor lense, but i cant spent more money for now. I think that is very good for the money. Thank you for sharing with us your experience and we can learn so much things to do with our cameras.

Totally agree, I use the nifty fifty on holiday all the time, I have been known for taking it only, it's a good fun lens walking around in the evening with it is a breeze.

Thanks for the no nonsense, straight to the point video Paul! I was very very happy to be able to pick up my first DSLR last week – a terrific slightly used Nikon D 5500 with four amazing recent Nikon lenses - 35mm, 50mm 18-55mm and the 55-200mm. All for $650 Canadian! I feel that as a relative newcomer to the photography scene, every one of my photographic needs will be met with these four lenses. Thoughts?
