Getting a Haircut

Hi, I’m Julia. Yesterday, my boyfriend Alex and I went to get our haircuts. It had been a while since I last visited a hair salon. I had had long hair for years, but lately, I had been thinking about a change—something fresh and light.

I made a reservation at a hair salon near our house. The hairdresser, Sarah, greeted me with a smile when I arrived. She led me to a chair and started by washing my hair. After washing, I sat in the chair, and Sarah asked me what style I wanted. I told her I was ready to cut my hair short. She smiled and told me it would look great.

She took her scissors and started trimming my long hair. Little by little, I could see the length disappearing in the mirror. It felt strange at first, but I was happy. Sarah carefully shaped my new haircut, making sure everything was even. When she finished, she used a blow dryer to give my hair some volume. The result was exactly what I had hoped for—light, fresh, and easy to manage.

After my haircut, Alex and I went to a barbershop so he could get his hair cut too. He hadn’t made a reservation, so we walked in and waited for his turn. The barbershop was busy, but after a short wait, the barber called Alex to the chair. He recognized Alex and asked if he wanted his usual style. Alex nodded and asked for a business cut.

The barber picked up his clippers to trim the sides and back, then used scissors and a comb to carefully cut the top. In just a few minutes, he shaped Alex’s hair into a neat, professional style, exactly how Alex liked it.

As we left the barbershop, we both felt fresh. Our haircuts were a small but meaningful change, and it felt good to step into the day with a fresh look.
