Many people's curiosity was destroyed in school by teachers who constantly said: "Just memorize the formula and don't ask questions."

I find experimentally: prioritize ways of getting "intrinsic (motivating) salesman" over ext.

Difference being, sometimes as an analogy: the goal of "travel" would be to get to the end of it.Hence "extrinsic".

Where as if things like "games, movies, entertainment, etc." were to get to the end, then least primarily, the shortest/quickest pieces would be the best. Rather than the "goal" of such would be such, or itself. Hence "intrinsic", though not a lot is said about the hypothetical result being optimal in terms of "magnitude" production.

math is my comfort subject. when I don't wanna study any other subject, I just casually bring my math book and start solving questions. I can never get tired of math.

Thank you for this video! I get asked quite a bit as to why I changed majors from CS to Pure/Applied Math, and the precise reason has to do with what was said in this video. Everyone has a certain field of math that gives them that “first spark” of ambition, and mine happened to be Group Theory :)

I’m currently in precalculus, and a lot of the things I have to learn aren’t fully explained, and a lot of times, this makes me super anxious. Anxious to know why it works. My textbook sometimes explains things well so that you understand why it works that way, but many times they don’t. It almost holds me back at times because while everyone else has moved on, I’m still on that one thing, trying to understand why. I do better grade-wise when I stop questioning and just learn how to do it.

"The appetite comes with the eating." I mostly started out just loving interdisciplinary studies, and got into math for all its applications. But applied math for me addicted to pure math in the process!

Well this is somewhat true...i read combinatorics from jee targeted books which made me want to remember facts and when i was reading a book on probability then i realised that combinatorics is much more than that

I start ti study math for data science purpose because i want to know what's going on behind the scene of AI tò Better understand Algorithm's.
I start study arithmetic because i didn't know how ti sum up 2 fractions.
I didn't know things likes order of operations, Square roots ecc...
Now thanks to my curiosity driven by my love for data science i'm swimming between differential calculus, integrals and now i'm in Differential Equations.
I never Belive i could Do It, because i leave school After 2 years of High school, so i'm a self Learner.
Btw i'll never had a positive vote in Math At school

Or maybe you have that humongous curiosity and "intelligence" but you are being "killed" by a psychologically and nervously abusive sadistic family since one decade and a half or two decades ... Don't give up, seek help ... again and again. Break through your huge traumatic introversion, and keep learning, do not sink in this ocean of personal, visceral nihilism.
