🤍 I love how you talk about graphite.

I've switched to colour pencils for a decade now after drawing only with graphite when I was younger - I don't have your level though 😅 - and I have thought about going back to graphite for some drawings and to learn from it.

Your video really talks to me a lot. It's how artists talk about the material they use like it was a person, a living individual with its sounds, its texture, its personality, how it behave on each surface, each paper, interacting with other pencils, with the skin, etc.

I've always talked about all of my pencils or the papers that way, and I see in the eye of my non-artist friends that they can't fathom how I feel about all of them 😅

Our mediums become such a huge part of who we are as individual and as artists. Because they allow us to convey our emotions, what we are dealing with internally.

Anyway, I love what you do and what you share with us. You are such an inspirational artist.

I started drawing because of your videos. I was amazed by how delicate and sophisticated a pencil drawing can be. Never seen anything like it before or at least not at this level. Graphite has always distracted me and mesmerized me. In first grade, I was more interested in shading in the little figures I was supposed to be counting. Now I watch in quiet appreciation and amazement as areas of my paper are transformed. I keep catching myself looking at a finished product and saying, "How did I do that?"
