The annual American Politics Colloquium took place online on Friday 19 November 2021 and provided an opportunity to discuss the current state of US Politics with leading researchers and practitioners, and explore the experience of legislative life with two former politicians. The event featured three sessions: one on domestic US politics, one on foreign policy issues, and a final special discussion with two Former Members of the US Congress.

Panel 2: foreign policy issues in the USA featured Ashlee Godwin (House of Commons), Jonathan Monten (UCL); chair: Andrew Moran (London Metropolitan University)
Panel 3: discussion and Q&A with two Former Members of Congress, Senator Tim Hutchinson (R-AR) and Congressman Larry LaRocco (D-ID), chair: Philip Davies (DMU)

The event was hosted by the Eccles Centre for American Studies at the British Library and organised in collaboration with the American Politics Group of the Political Studies Association; and it was supported by the US Embassy London, the US Association of Former Members of Congress and the British Association for American Studies.
