PUTTING IN THE REPS
As Josh Smith stated last month, three tools he likes to use to build soloing ideas are repetition, call-and-response and “handcuffs.” Josh began this discussion by demonstrating various ways to utilize repetition as a phrase-building tool. In this lesson, he'llpresent some more ways to use repetition as an effective soloing springboard.

Today only i was doing this exercise, my teacher taught me to count in one hand n sing a rhythm on it always knowing where my 1 is and what i realised is to create a good hook its nice to repeat same rhythm thrice and change a lil in last bar, the results are mind blowing i cant believe m coming up with such cool riffs finally after playing for years🙏

Repetition instantly makes your solos sound more professional because it shows that you know what notes you're playing, rather than just randomly playing notes from a scale. Josh is a monster player... so incredible.
