Sea Kayaking Scotland - Around Tobermory.

After the high, highs of Staffa, we had to come back down to Earth. The plan was to launch at Calgary, and head out around Treshnish, but alas the wind put paid to it. So back to Tobermory, and Matt decides to have a paddle around the bay. I was totally dis-interested, but put the boat in, to compare it unloaded, as to fully loaded, for the previous 2 days out around Staffa.Conditions were perfect now, apart from being overcast, and a bit monochrome, but it turned out to be a wonderful little trip, and I'm really glad I did it, in fact, I wish we'd gone out much earlier, and made a full day of it.

That guy you paddle with The Jesus. He's so awesome. He's easily the best paddler I have ever seen, he's so fabulous in his boat, handles it like it's part of him. He truly is the best sea kayaker in the World.

We have to get a picture of Matt under that one. The Cumbria Coast is one I have never really visited, other than Grange over Sands, Humphrey Head, and Arnside. Must try it sometime, but my love is of cliffs, and birds, and caves, and I know it is in very short supply there.

Never thought of that, it is very similar to Portree, another lovely area, but everytime I've visited Portree, it has blown a gale.

That would be some paddle if you did it for real was quite a relaxing chill out paddle, and unexpectedly good.

Jesus has changed his is now - The Jesus of Kayaking, or TJOK. ha ha. Actually, this trip was his baby, he arranged to meet with Ross, Neil, and Alan, at Easdale, for the first trip. The weather changed from quite windy, to flat calm whilst we were there, so it was pure luck really. I had planned to go to Anglesey, but woke with a blinding headache, didn't go, then got told about this trip, for the day after, so it was all pure luck.
