These lenses might not be the best, nor the latest, nor the greatest, but I used them a lot this year and they produced great photographs or video, and definitely I will continue to use them in the future for my photo or video needs.

Great video Gary. I agree that 35-100 is a mini beast!

I am curious what makes you prefer 35-100 since the 14-140 already cover the focal length and the apertures of them are similar?

I like the fact that most of your list is made up of modest lenses, not all high end. As you say, for travel photography light weight and small are important. I took a vacation a few years ago and just took an Olympus E-PL1 with a 17mm f2.8 and an E-P2 with the 40-150mm kit zoom. That trip gave me some of the best travel shots I have ever taken because I was concentrating on the scene before me, and not fussing over gear. I have similar gear but mostly Olympus, I only have one Lumix lens, the 25mm f1.7.

Hi Gary, have you updated the firmware on pan 15 mm 1.7? Did you notice any improvement or maybe not? Thank you

I have the Panasonic 12-32mm F3.5 - 5.6 as it came as the kit lens for my Lumix GX9. However, I don't really use it much, despite getting reasonable shots on it. I use the Panasonic 12-60mm F3.5 - 5.6 more often, as it has a little more reach, even though it's not as compact as the 12-32mm and it has Power OIS, compared to Mega OIS. I also use the Olympus 8-25mm F4 Pro a lot and it's probably my favourite lens at the moment, although I did get stuck recently when I was trying to take photos with it in a low light situation and the in-camera IBIS let me down. I'd forgotten to bring my DJI version of the Panasonic Leica 15mm F1.7, which I use a lot when travelling, or occasionally the Sigma 16mm F1.4, when I'm not travelling. The only other Prime lens I use a lot is the Samyang 12mm F2 Manual Lens. I'm using this mainly for night sky/low light settings, when I want a bit more of a wide angle than the PL/DJI 15mm, and despite being a manual lens, it's ridiculously easy to get good in-focus shots with it. The 5th lens I use a lot is the Panasonic 45-150mm F4 - 5.6 for situations when I want more zoom. Although I think the Olympus M. Zuiko ED II 40-150mm F4 - 5.6 gives better shots, despite not having stabilisation in lens.

Funny, although I expected that having seen quite some of your videos: I don’t even own any of those lenses😂, although I have 8 different lenses for MFT.

A very suprising list... and also after 14 years of mFT for me, my favorite lens is really suprising. I own lens maybe worth 3k$ and my favorite lens is the basic 25mm from Panasonic. Its not the most impressive overall, but combined with the GX800 it fits into my edc bag and is everywhere with me. Normally the 20mm 1.7 would be my favorite, but the AF is to slow for my 4yo son. Maaaany missed shots. The 25mm is much better in that regard. Thr lens with the most "wow" factor is undoubtly the 75mm 1.8 Oly. Even with the small GX800 its just impressive what comes out of this lens. But, for me its to heavy to carry it all day long in my bag.
