POWERPOINT TUTORIAL OVERVIEW

In this Microsoft PowerPoint Tutorial, you'll learn how to leverage the QAT to quickly accomplish otherwise time intensive alignment tasks - allowing you to align objects in PowerPoint super-fast and efficiently.

Using the QAT to your advantage like this is one of the easiest PowerPoint tips you can put into action to start building a solid PowerPoint strategy to save you time. The QAT is one of the most underutilized and under-appreciated PowerPoint tools but can quickly be turned into your most reliable PowerPoint shortcut by putting your frequently used, hard to reach PowerPoint commands directly beneath your fingertips.

Pro PowerPoint Tip:
Reserve the QAT for commands that you use all the time, do not have a CTRL shortcut associated with them, and their ALT shortcut into the Ribbon is too long to remember.

The alignment tool is a perfect example of what to put on the QAT as it is frequently used (the most important command in all of PowerPoint), does not have a CTRL shortcut associated with it, and it's ALT shortcut into the Ribbon is five keystrokes, which is too long for the most important command in PowerPoint. By strategically placing the command in the first position on your QAT, you can take a five-shortcut key stroke like align left (ALT, H, G, A, L) and simplify it to three keystrokes (ALT, 1, L).

Great video, thank you so much! Could you please tell me how can I copy the position of a shape and paste it on the other shapes in different slides?

It might be an idea though to explore using shortcuts: For example, having selected the items to be aligned, press Alt, then JD, then AA, then L, and left alignment is achieved instantly. Instead of L, as above, press V, and you get vertical distribution.

Aligning objects in content heavy decks can be a massive undertaking...especially when everything changes, which is always seems to do. Putting the Alignment Tool in the first position on your QAT is one of the smartest things you can do in PowerPoint.

Enjoy!
