CKUL-FM: 96.5 The Breeze - Top of the Hour (Halifax’s Christmas Favourites)

At midnight on November 12, 2022, 96.5 The Breeze in Halifax flipped to its all-Christmas music format: 96.5 The Breeze - Halifax’s Christmas Favourites. The Soft AC station has been changing to all-Christmas music from mid-December to Boxing Day for the last few years. Stingray’s other “The Breeze” stations in New Glasgow, Edmonton and Vancouver are also playing all-Christmas music. It appears that Stingray/The Breeze brand stations are the first major radio stations to flip to all-Christmas music in Canada in 2022, with many other major market stations expected to follow suit early next week.

The breeze concept originated in San Francisco, which iHeart media created. I wonder how the breeze concept is doing in Canada sensing some of the markets in the US it’s actually in the top 10 of Nielsen ratings.
