It's wild how the "No SBMM" topic clouded peoples judgments of this game so hard. Even without the SBMM the game is still incredibly sweaty cause it's designed to be so. I'm just not a fan of Hero Shooters in general, but I would much rather go back to playing Black Ops 4 than this, even though this is just Bo4 but the dollar store version.

A free game and people up in arms about server issues? Come on. Game was available at 1:00 pm my time and as soon as I got home at 4 I had almost zero issues. That deserves credit. I think I was in a lobby a few times that took a bit to find a game. Oh well. Find something else to do for a bit and life goes on.

Not a perfect game by any means but it doesn’t get much better for a free game. COD with some FINALS blended in. I’m having fun with it. Better than paying a ridiculous amount for every call of duty that comes out only to watch it get 2/5 stars on reviews.

I think one of the big things they did right with this game is the menus feel like ps3 and Xbox 360 era COD. Saving load outs and weapon customization is pretty well done in this game.

Game modes are nothing extraordinary. Pretty standard but over all seems like a great start to this game if it doesn’t fall off after the first month.

All of this is coming soon. Which is such a shame.

Discount black ops 4 with the same game we played the last 3 tests in its year delay. If you want to play CoD without a $70 tag this is the game for you.

I agree with you on snipers 100%. Even at point blank when I have the jump on someone, they flip 180 and one shot kill you. Inb4 "skill issue" it happened almost every match from a bunch of different people

Xdefiant feels like a mix between COD MP and Overwatch. I like non of these games so not for me but will probably attract people from those games who are tired of SBMM

I gotta disagree, if the gameplay is good enough, no one will remember nor care about the time they couldn’t play for a few hours at launch. Plenty of examples of other games doing the exact same thing.

I haven't seen anyone point this out since this is highly subjective but the game is REALLY ugly. From the HUD UI to the guns to the maps, on their own they're not really that egregious but smashed together, they make for one of the ugliest games I've seen come out recently.

what im so confused by, is that a lot of the studio are old cod devs, many of which last game were mw3 or ghost. They were constantly nudging at this game being "old cod" or for "old cod fans" yet its literally filled with a worse version of new COD mechanics

I don't understand why all developers nowadays focusing on FAST-PACED ADHD gameplay...
Miss good old days with COD4 MW for example... simple but awesome.

Inconsistent TTK, weapon balance is zero: too many broken/OP weapons such as the sniper which can quickscope and do 120+HP of damage to the torso resulting in a bodyshot and all the SMGs/shotguns that can kill you in a blink of an eye.
There is also too much jump spamming and the footsteps audio is too low.
You die a lot while being in cover even with 10/20 of ping and overall the characters abilities almost all of them fall into the oneshot category which is a big nah for me.

It's insane to have such a bad weapon balance/so many problems after two years of beta, this means that the players who were in the beta tests gave 0 feedbacks.
If this game had been on Steam it would have already been flooded with negative reviews.

All in all it's good for being a F2P made by Ubisoft, let's say 5/10 for now but I don't see it lasting too long. Maybe a couple of months before it's forgotten by everyone, just like Hyper Scape.
