I can't say I liked the choreo here on either version. And I never pictured the dance as being performed by clockwork dolls like the ones in the first act. I wonder if all the divertissements were done in clockwork doll style in the Bolshoi production.

As far as I can tell, I only saw two ballet versions. Growing up, I saw the Nutcracker multiple times and outside of the music, the costumes, the set, the motions were so different that only the music was the same. You really surprised me.

I definitely like the second one better. Both dancers get equal chance to shine. That said, I like the set design in the first production better.

I'm partial to Bolshoi Ballet, so I won't be making any judgement on this performance since there all special in there own, I would have to see all of it played out side by side.

Постановка и выполнение Большого - самое лучшее из 3х отрывков. Первая - абсолютно немузыкальное исполнение и постановка, а третий отрывок выглядит как пародия. Как-то-то так

I thought he was very good from the Moscow Ballet, and I liked the Bolshoi Ballet, but I didn't like the Royal Ballet.

As much as I love Russian with all its stunts, it's refreshing to see a version where the woman gets to shine just as much as the man.

To be honest the Bolshoi wasn’t my favorite for once. For me it was lacking that wow factor, the big leaps and jumps were missing. Choreo in the Royal was my favorite, but I wasn’t a big fan of the costuming, but overall Royal was my favorite I would say

The music is a traditional Ukrainian dance - hopak . There is nothing russian in it.
