Marc is first quarter, half light and half dark, because he still feels remorse for his actions
And Jake is the New Moon or the Dark side of the moon, completely in the shadows, unknown to Marc and Steven, doing Khonsu's will mercilessly

I think the reason why Harrow went from a smirk to pure fear is because HE still remembers the day Jake beat the crap out of him and his goons in the last fight. The fact that he still remembers it means Jake is the real definition of brutality

Okay, here's my theory: Jake Lockley has appeared in every episode of Moon Knight and we just didn't realize it. In Episode 1, we are led to believe that Marc was the alter fighting Harrow's men when Steven blacked out. But, those scenes are very similar to future scenes where we definitely know Jake was the one doing the fighting. I believe Jake was really the alter who was fighting back against Harrow's men to protect Steven until Marc "woke up". After all, Khonshu kept telling Steven to return control to Marc, but we don't know if Marc actually was taking control. I think Marc took back control after the chase scene and just assumed Steven was somehow able to get away without any help. At the end of Episode 2, we see one of the alters drinking alcohol in the hotel room in Egypt. Once again, we are made to believe it is Marc, but this may actually be Jake because the alter in the mirror, who is presumably Steven, is sleeping. In Episode 3, we get our first real sign that Jake exists when Marc blacks out and wakes up after killing some of Harrow's men, with neither him nor Steven remembering what happened. Then in Episode 4 we get the unopened sarcophagus. Obviously Jake was the one inside it. In Episode 5, Marc is presumably the alter who has the first meeting with asylum Harrow, but his accent, facial expressions, and him trying to kill Harrow suggests he was actually Jake. And then finally in Episode 6 Marc blacks out and Jake defeats Harrow and kills all his men. Then in the post credit scene Jake is finally revealed and he kills Harrow. What's scary is that Jake could have been doing stuff in the background the whole time and neither Marc, Steven, or the viewer would have noticed.

So each of the personalities of Marc represent something different in him. Marc himself represents sadness, grief and pain he was the original and originally he was a much more happier person but his mother in her madness, and the guilt from his brother's death, drove his usual peppy self deep into him. However he took the happy carefree self inside of him and turned it into the second personality Steven Grant who would live the happy and carefree life. Steven represents Marc's happiness and naivety the boy he used to be but could no longer fully go back to. Jake however represents something far darker, possibly born from the beatings his mother gave him. Originally he was a coping mechanism but time and trauma made him angry, bitter and violent with Khonshu's powers he could take out the rage and frustration that is still boiling inside of him and unleash it on those that Khonshu has targeted. So Jake represents essentially Marc's rage and anger violently manifested. Curious to see what comes next.

Love the new look Khonshu has. His other appearance was similar to moon knight suit and this one is similar to the mr knight suit. The car says Spectre on both front and back plates so this just goes to show that both Khonshu & Jake respect Mark even though he does not want to be his avatar anymore. now all Khonshu has to do is give Jake also a new moon knight suit because I really want to see a third different moon knight suit in season 2 if there is a season 2 of course there is.

But he accidentally created the opposite
What he fears he could be
A cold blooded killer

I think the first tease of Jake came in ep 1.

When Steven wakes up during Marc's mission with a broken jaw, Khonshu says "Go back to sleep. You're not supposed to be here. Surrender the body to Marc." Then realizes, "Oh, the idiot's in control."
I think that's a sign that Jake and Khonshu has crossed paths with each other.

Oscar Isaac really made this character feel completely different from the other two identities
