In this video I talk about the format and professionality (Ssh - that's a word!) of my videos and seek some feedback from you guys.
If you got the blindingly obvious Pokemon reference in the title then give yourself a pat on the back.

@ITcrayons As for the summaries, they've been proven to help people learn and are especially helpful for beginners. If someone didn't get something in the tutorial (maybe I explained something poorly) then it just helps re-enforce the information covered in the tutorial. I'll work on the patronisation of some of my tutorials as I somewhat agree, and I also agree that they are called 'tutorials' (I slip up into my old terminology sometimes). Not sure about the summaries though - I'll ask around.

Your replies are very respectful and im glad of that, in reply to your replies, id start of by saying that i don't want you to take my comment the wrong way, i watch every single one of your videos and this is because you do put things across very thoroughly looking back at some of your videos, and as a matter of fact i bought a sublime text 2 license after watching your video about "sublime text 2 best text editor EVER?"

@ITcrayons I agree my topics are a little widespread -- I'm hoping to focus in on web development (like the technologies you've listed above) at some point, but for now I'll do a little bit in each (since people are still in desperate need for good Lua and C++ tutorials). Thanks for all your feedback - It's helped a lot.

@ITcrayons Thanks for your feedback -- I agree that currently my tutorials are very general and vague, this is because for the most part I want to get all my basics tutorials covered before I more on to more advanced, specific things (I really want to create some more advanced HTML&CSS tutorials (things like media-queries and more CSS3) after I've finished the basics series). Current tutorials on the subjects I do are generally god damn awful and if I get my act together, I can offer many (cont)

@whatsajaymo I'll look into my zoom levels for sure. I always make sure that the videos are in 720p and have pretty good zooming so it can look nice, have a lot of detail and over all else can easily be read on desktop machines, but I don't really think about mobile devices.

Quick Points:

Watermark -> Yes
Intro -> A very quick one so you can see what your going to do but not too long to be boring, perhaps just some text on the screen saying the name of the tutorial
Outro -> Acheivment Hunter Style (Either moving logo or video selection with logo) - Ending always feels abrupt
Comment/Rate/Sub -> Nope
Scripting -> Lose scripting seems more professional and stops blabbering but keeps fun and tangents

@DevHQLessons @ITcrayons of the best tutorials around on the subjects that I teach. I really want to re-do the majority of the videos on my channel with a bit more information, a bit more playfulness, and over-all more 'correct-ness'. I agree that the quality in SOME of my tutorials is pretty good, but in the older tutorials like the 'Lua' ones, there are just too many things I say which are incorrect and too many other things I should have covered.

@ITcrayons One more thing before I stop writing about your comment - you said "[your videos] only cover what can be learned on w3 ... no personality or opinion". I think that my videos DO contain personality and opinion, this is part of my style that I'm still developing but I feel it is there and makes the tutorials much easier to follow and more enjoyable. Although the info is available through W3, you don't LEARN there, you are just presented with info - that's where my tutorials come in.

and it's also how i ended up subscribing to you and watching all of your videos since, though i fear your videos may be a bit to wide spread and random. you need to focus on one language and carry that through, things i personally would benefit from are HTML5 CSS3 jQuery and Wordpress.

@DevHQLessons - cool. im more from the web design web dev side.. but at college im studying computing and we are studying vb.net. is there any way i can utilize what you teach in c++ in visual basic. i know its very basic but i understand they do relate.

this may seem like im trolling but seriously take everything lightly...(create far more specific videos that are likely to grow a bigger fan base, as of now your videos are very vague and only cover what can be learned on w3, theres no personality or opinion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the quality of your videos, your commentary is quite patronizing an instance is "so what we covered in todays lesson - 1 its not a lesson it's a tutorial, 2 people dont want to know what they covered.
