Is it possible to rig up some sort of redstone contraption above each end crystal that spawns (really high up so the dragon doesn't fly through or get blown by the explosion) to drop TNT onto the crystals at the touch of a button to blow up them up straight away at the start of the fight?
If so, it would make the fight pretty easy to farm and get Elytras on the Hermitcraft server.

what about slime chunks? i mean can slime spawn on endrods?

We recently tested the obsidian towers in our survival world (we mined all the towers down to the island level) and yep, we got tons of obsidian, and then it all came back, but we also discovered that a huge area of blocks is wiped out.
So I tested it in creative mode and here are my results...
When respawning the end dragon:
1. A cylindrical circle 32 blocks above the exit portal ring is eliminated. Even creatively added bedrock is wiped out.
2. As each end-crystal is respawned, an area 21x21x21 centered on the new end-crystal is wiped clean of blocks (including bedrock) then the entire obsidian tower is respawned as well as the bedrock crystal pedestal (if you had removed it) and the iron cage if it was previously present.

Also to note: When an end side-portal is generated, they are pushed into the game forcibly erasing an area 3x5x3.
If you place any blocks above the exit portal's 0x0 coordinates, the end dragon will perch at that level instead of perching on the exit portal. (Having your dragon perch 40 blocks in the air isn't cool for killing her...)

(Myth/Question): What happens when two players with thorns fight? i.e. what is the end result of each hit, and how does it affect the durability of the armour?
Does the damage bounce between the players until the randomness of thorns doesn't deal damage?

The pillars also regenerate a bit of area around themselves : We had made obsidian stairs to get to the barred crystals faster, but they got destroyed. What is the size of this area ? I think that is a good question for a mini myths episode.

In one of your livestreams you were talking about how you didn't think that multiple Ender Dragons but you wanted someone to double checked. I hopped onto a creative world and tried to spawn a second dragon with the crystals but alas it did not spawn. Love the vids, can't wait for the next ep of Myth Busting!

Mobs don't prevent other mobs from spawning as of 1.9 btw. Shulkers are probably an exception because they are similar to blocks, in that it prevents other mobs from moving into the same spot (Not including other shulkers teleporting in there).

Also, did you know you can fly infinitely with the elytra if you go up and down at the correct angle? Pi showed it in one of his unlisted videos.

A follow up to the bat myth busting episode: can bats spawn on leaves? There are mods out there that make bats drop useful loot so I'm looking into bat farm designs and this info would really help.

Looting is... tricky. You could shoot a mob from a distance with a bow, and, while the arrow is travelling, switch to a looting sword. If you have the sword in hand before the mob gets hit, looting will be applied.

Hi, Xisuma. My favorite mythbusting is the final one. Can obsidian respawn, when the ender dragon respawns. Now, I can see that the End is another great place to put a haste two beacon. *sweet*

For the end rod: Why not try it out in a slime chunk? The question is whether it's possible for mobs to spawn on them and there are mobs - slimes - that aren't affected by light level.

Hay bales really should decrease the damage that you get from crashing into them with the Elytra. Or make it so you don't get damaged at all.
Same goes for slime blocks, except those should also bounce you up in the air.

Also, the regenerating obsidian towers is a really nice feature.
I now imagine all of the obsidian based pranks that people will pull on people in servers lol.

What I find interesting is that the attack happens at the cross hairs. I would have expected that asm per the visual, as your sword moves from right to left that the first skeleton should take the knockback. Useful video again Xisuma.

What about Durability with the sweep attack? does hitting 3 mobs with one attack drain 1 durability, or 3?

Does an enderdragon drop its head when it gets killed by a sharged creeper?

1- If a skeleton shoot a creeper with a flame arrow and the creeper died instantly the creeper will drop a disc?
2- If a skeleton shoot a creeper with a flame arrow and the creeper doens't died instantly, but died a few seconds later from the fire the creeper will drop a disc?
3- The flame arrow cause more damage compare to the normal arrow?
