Yes, i'm very excited to hear about a Hybrid version. As an owner of a Hybrid Hyundai Tuscon AND the husband/father in a family of 4, I've been looking forward to replacing our "family" SUV (a Toyota Highlander) with a van-style vehicle.

I wish they updated this to be a PHEV. It seems like a PHEV minivan with something like 60km of EV range for getting the kids to school and sports would be just about a perfect vehicle.

Especially if it would qualify for EV rebates across Canada.

Great comparson! Kia definitely upgraded alot of stuff for the new carnival. I'm glad they kept the traditional shifter for North America instead of the knob shift, also the same ground clearances as previous version, that's a big plus. However, I think the older version tail light and tail gate looks better than the new one, its simple and clean. The new one seems like they just trying to make something different, the horizontal and vertical line with a hook, I dont get it. Also not a fan of that cutting corner tail gate, even know they are the same size opening but it feels smaller. I do like they moved tail gate button higher, it's more convenient compare to the older version. Kia trying to get rid off the traditional minivan apprearance on carnival, turning it into a mpv/ suv like. they did a decent job, hopefully in the future they can come up something more rugdizzed and aggressive look with an option of AWD that would be fantastic.
