Emma is tiny, tiny, tiny...she was 15 years old at this performance. The gentleman in the audience with the dark hair and glasses was her father sitting with her brother and sister. I first saw her at the Voice kids Holland and was stunned that the big voice came from this little elf. If you get a chance check out her blind audition, its wow! My wife has the same disease and is 99 lbs. She is in her late 70s and was diagnosed late in life, I can't imagine what this must be like for a beautiful young lady. Andre Rieu is going to make her dream come true. Emma is going to be a part of Andre's Christmas concert and she is going to tour with Andre's orchestra beginning in 2024. Voila

That was Andre Rieu in full action. He owns the company that employs the orchestra and they sell Fairy tales for grown ups. Since 20 years they do and travel the world. They fill the largest halls there are. and they control the whole show, including lights, sound and the cameras. A multi million dollar business. And he performs his magic with Emma. She has a load of talent but he lifted that to another level. So high that the tiny little girl can mesmerize a 12.000 crowd, the world round. Emma you are a brave Grand Little Lady and we love you.

When we check the subtitles en anglais version, we gain new layers of meaning and intention. She’s changed the lyrics in the first line from the original Pravi version from “listen to me, me the wannabe singer” (chanteuse en herbe) to “listen to me, me the half singer”(chanteuse a demi) She’s apologizing right out of the gate for her limitations, but she’s bringing all that she has to offer, so “there it is, all of it good or bad”. That theme repeats over & over throughout the song. As one coach points out, this is Andre’s darkest waltz ever and a journey there and back led by this diminutive young woman with her soul bared open. I’m hardly good enough, but here is all of me laid bare before you. Have we ever witnessed a more poignantly exquisite moment our entire lives? Bravo Emma. You had us at “ecoute’ moi”.

The most beautiful reaction a great artist can get is when the listener gets carried away in the world she sings, the sounds she makes, the emotions she touches is, when she sings, we only hear her and her alone.
