Have a Karen neighbor that calls the cops on you? It's usually best to just stay in your house when the cops come knocking. In my experience, cops usually side with whomever places the 911 call first, especially if it's an older woman. Unless the police have probable cause that you committed a crime or they have a search warrant, they cannot force you to answer the door and let them inside.

If you do decide to talk to the police, say this: "I am happy to answer your questions, but right now I am invoking my fifth amendment until my lawyer is present."

I’ve had cops come to my house acting like asses. And I’ve told them if they wanted talk to me they can do it from the road. And they did.

I love how this guy tells people what the law says on paper, like that has any bearing whatsoever on what cops can do in the real world.
He said all that like the cops wouldn't kick in your door and beat you senseless, then lie on the report or plant some drugs or say you attacked them.

Thanks again for some good advice that we can actually use! Giving us useful law lessons is appreciated.. How to deal with the police and what or what not to say.. Making sure if questioned to ask for your lawyer is a big one... Knowing that you don't have to open the door if the police DO NOT have a warrant in writing is a nice thing to know too.. I know im not gonna forget these solid law tips.. I dont ever plan to encounter this situation, but its better to know, than not to...

Neighbor called bc I was trying to access our common septic system. Deputy tried to provoke me, but I remained calm. He asked me to stop and told other deputies it was a civil matter. They try to pick a fight with you to check your demeanor. Don't fall for it.

What if the cops bist down your door with an arrest warrant for someone that does not live there or maybe someone you know but does not reside there. Please address both.
I saw a video where they bust in the middle of the night and threatened the whole family and they guy didn't live there or maybe lived there before them. It seems who ever drew up the affidavit may have lied

They can just break in with an arrest warrant? I thought that was only for a search warrant...
