North Carolina hog farmers stinking up the neighborhood

Hundreds of North Carolina residents are going to court, accusing their farmer neighbors of leaving hog waste on their doorsteps. Mark Strassmann went to the state to see -- and smell -- the problem for himself.

Pork is disgusting. It isn't ethical to farm something with such toxic waste when there isn't a reasonable solution to get rid of the waste.

I'm from nc and have grown up around hog farms and a lot of my family owns them. They crying about this for no reason. The farms were probably there before these people moved to the area so that isn't a farmers fault. Hog farming is a major income for many nc residents whether it be directly from the farms or the person selling them equipment for it. I. Other words leave nc and farmers alone and go cry about something else

The is no way the hog people should be allowed to pressure spray the manure so close to a residential home. I am thinking a 400 meter buffet zone. Many farmers knife the manure into the ground or drop it using a truck. The residents will still get the stink, but they wouldn't be sprayed. The hog producers are being bullies.

If people really cared about the environment and their health they would stop eating PORK. They don't.

Now if you look up a video of a local man checking out this woman's claim he went to her house while fields were being spayed he didn't get sprayed on actually he couldn't smell it

Lol it’s racist but almost everyone in my neighborhood is white and we have sprayers and hog lagoons not even football feild length away if you don’t like it move get out of duplin county please put off NC for that fact

Those farms have been around a lot longer than nearby neighbor hoods. If you can't stand the smell don't move right nextdoor to a hog farm.
