There's an old saying you need to strike while the iron's hot. Well, in fishing terms, the iron's never been hotter than it is right now at Louisiana's legendary Lake Pontchartrain Trestle. My good buddy, Capt. Justin Bowles, and I picked the perfect day to partake in the action.

Here in Coastal NC we have a lot of bluefish still around to contend with while trout fishing, , so we don't have a choice but to keep our baits on the bottom! If you bring it too far off the bottom you get bit by a blue! This forces us to slow roll the bait, and the more current, and/or wind, the slower you have to go!
And since I know you will comment on these, , let me ask you, , what do you mean by "hitting the notification bell", , all I have is the option to subscribe, , no bell to hit!?

Do you ever freeze fish? I’m thinking with the new regulations coming we might find times of year when catching 13 ½” trout will be tough. Would love to hear some tips for storing the fish.
