Mackie used to own RCF and EAW, I believe they started making speakers after they bought both companies. They've sense been bought by a group that first bought RCF from Loud Technologies (Makie Parent Company), and then bought back EAW. RCF made a lot of the EAW high powered drivers in the past.

competitors for RCF can be just Bose, FBT, QSC, JBL and Yamaha not at all

For me RCF wins o used to owed both of them what i can say is RCF is consistent even the unit aged. Other brands fade the quality after years of usage but the RCF dont..

Hey quick question, The 7 series was replaced by the 9. I got the 912 A which is the equivalent of this model. Did you notice any improvements from the 7 series to the 9 ? which one you like better. IMO the 9 series are not balanced when it comes to the bass its way too much. I was wondering if this model sounds more balanced and better?

If we talk about quality I would say both are good because they are good and professional speakers but if we talk about power, Mackie will win because this Mackie speaker, at least the Mackie srm 215 is rated 2000 watts rms and 136 dB Spl and the rcf is rated 1400 watts between both and spl is 130 db
