The History of Europe's Forgotten Country, Listenbourg.

Listenbourg, truly one of the most unique nations on the peninsula of Europe. I've always wanted to go on a vacation there someday.

I tried to make this video in the style of @OverlySarcasticProductions and I feel like the maps do looks very similar but the drawings they use in their videos are so good I couldn't make my own version of them without it looking horrible.

I still don’t understand, why all the history books want to ignore this big, very important part of history. After talking to my teacher, she finally allowed me to do my next presentation about Listenbourg and this Video really helped me! You literally saved me, because it seems like most people are just too scared of Listenbourgs complicated past.

My recent ancestors came to the United States from Listenbourg back in the early 1910s. They struggled to get by in this country having only been able to speak Listenbourgish, but my great-great grandfather Oasgearndöfn found a good living as a peanut farmer. Now sadly my family feels entirely cut off from our Listenbourgish roots ever since the tragic passing of my great aunt Schleisdolskjar, the last one of us whom spoke Listenbourgish. Thank you so much for this video bringing attention to the home of my ancestors. I’m always thankful to learn everything I can so I can feel closer to them.

You forgot that Listenbourg also had colonies in St Lucia and Martinique, listenbourgish speaking escaped slaves who fled to the highlands, specifically of martinique known as Gesträbandos, and later mixed with white settlers and native tainos developed a creole culture.
Today there are around 1500 remaining
Listenbourg also briefly owned a small area of what is now Southwest Florida, before it was annexed by Spain

During it’s high days post Roman era with King Acritius and the Listenbourg Empire, they owned the Iberian Peninsula hell maybe even the entirety of Western Europe. Also after the Civil War ended during early WW2, (it happened bc of the Democratic Nation of Listenbourg and the Fascist Federation of Listenbourg fought who was gonna rule)how powerful they became as the Great Republic of Listenbourg. Shame what happened to it later on with the GRL being reduced to a shell of it self and becoming the Republic of Listenbourg but their climbing back and very very fast. They also have amazing Films that are in English and had great movies. The Best is definitely the Action Movie “Bald People Pulling Each Other by the Hair” and BPPEOH 2: New Baldie. Also the amazing Tragedy “Dry Towel at the Bottom of the Ocean”

Some people I know smuggled snails between the north of Portugal and Listenburg. Now that both countries are members of the EU, that way of life is over, which is unfair.

The Listenbourgish community is massive here in northern Missouri. Every year my town celebrates Jüglafestív. I'm proud of my German/Listenbourgish heritage and my family's history
I hope to one day visit the country
Also I love Listenbourgish Food 🤤, such a unique blend of German and Iberian cuisine

To the people who didn't noticed the easter egg in the map of Listenbourg, If you flip the map Listenbourg is actually the map of France upside down except theres small minor mistakes to make France and Listenbourg different land shapes like Listenbourg's east of Grand Est (west of Adrias) is bigger and Provence (Kusterde) maybe smaller and of course Lurenberg is placed at where Bordeaux was placed.

Unexpected. Mexican history books usually make a sidenote on the situation of Spain whenever there were big events leading up to our struggle for independence, so you'd expect they'd at least mention Listenbourg once. Thanks for spreading the word!

I remember reading the part in my history book with our alliances, they were a legendary MVP towards humanly contribution. I find it incredibly saddening to see it being forgotten by today's society...

So true, Dries. Thank you for making such solid points.
