The producers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.

"Dodgson! We got Dodgson here! ... See? Nobody cares"
Truly prophetic writing...

I just can’t get over the fact that they could’ve went so many cool directions with this film and chose to make it a kidnapping film with giant locusts and a sprinkle of dinosaurs 😩

Going from Top gun maverick to this just makes me appreciate non cgi action scenes even more than ever. Nothing beats the real thing

y’all remember when the dinosaurs in these movies were actually a threat and even likeable characters died sometimes. i remember how intense and on edge these movies used to be

When they told the audience (yes, told the audience) that most of the large carnivores were already captured and relocated to biosyn it made me realize that the movie I wish we were given all happened off camera.

For me, Jurassic Park ended with the shot of those birds flying over the ocean.

That was all that ever needed to be said.

It's also insane that a movie that came out almost 30 years ago still has better looking dinosaurs than all 3 of these movies combined. Seriously the T-Rex from the first movie is still absolutely terrifying and holds up flawlessly.

The first JP was incredible, terrorizing, brilliant, unified in its approach and all the characters coalesced around one incredible discovery . I will never in my lifetime forget the terror I felt for that little boy & girl as they were stuck in an overturned glass topped truck as T-Rex ‘played with his food ‘ .. the tension, the puddle of water as the pounding of T-Rex footsteps approached.. the look on the kids faces as the sound got closer .. then when t-Rex puts his jaws through the roof (the screaming )and the kids kick their feet up to stop him from tearing their tiny bodies into bite size pieces .. That was raw, reality based terror ! I was that kid, I felt I was in that truck ! That’s brilliant art! That’s filmmaking excellence

There’s no way this could be worse than the second World film. No way.

Getting here was the objective. This movie is the reason the previous 2 ones exist. And I knew in every step of the way here that it wouldn't be worth it. They sacrificed so much, for so little.

I'll sum it up in 5 words - Fast and Furious with dinosaurs.

2019: colin trevorrow should have direct Star Wars episode 9, his script was great, would have been a great movie that honors Star Wars
2022: Never mind

Dr. Alan Grant summed it up perfectly in the first movie: two eras, two sets of creatures separated by 65 million years suddenly thrown back into the mix together creates chaos. That is how each Jurassic park movie should’ve been.

The MASSIVE problem I had while watching the movie is I kept thinking about the trailer scene where all the characters were together when they saw that bigger T-Rex thing. So the entire time I kept thinking, ok all these characters are going to survive their situations cause that scene hasn’t happened yet. I didn’t have any fear for the characters lives almost the whole movie 🤷🏾

I get the message that they were trying to give at the end, but I don't feel like dinosaurs could ever coexist with our world. All it takes is for a T-Rex or tridactyl to go after someone, and it's just a recipe for continued chaos.

Note: I have yet to see this movie, but this is my understanding of the situation around production

It’s facing the same issue as the Star Wars sequels did, but exacerbated. The first movie in the trilogy has an idea (the idea being almost the same thing as the original movie) and it does it pretty well. Then issues come around with production and where they want the series to go, leading to issues behind the scenes. Too many cooks in the kitchen, so to say. It sucks, because there is absolutely still potential in the IP, it’s just not being realized when it comes to the films

I think people just expected more of the dinos in the real world and it ended up being that most of them were in a sanctuary outside of the black market dinos and a few that didn't cause many problems in the real world.

The first JP movie, even if only in still images with no sound, is still gorgeous and thrilling. It was a visual masterpiece, carried by perfect pace, humor, tension and most importantly fear of the unknown. A horror sci-fi perfectly stitched in with clever writing and directing.

This is all lost, so with it, the entire franchise.

Bringing back Dodgson when literally all people remember about him is that nobody cares about him, is pretty telling.
