QUICK MAKEUP TIP - EYESHADOW SHIMMER

Shimmer under the eyebrow (personally) i think is a very dated look. It really reminds me of the 80s! But its still one of the most used eyeshadow techniques around.

As a general rule - the more eyelid and crease space you have the less shimmer you want to apply under the brow. The less space the more you can play around with this.

Remember anything you highlight STANDS OUT or COMES TOWARD THE PERSON LOOKING AT YOU. So if you have a HUGE space between the crease and your brow and you highlight with lots of shimmer you're basically drawing attention to that area.

Same thing applies with shimmer anywhere on the face - anything you highlight will stand out. So think about the places on the face and eyes you want to stand out and highlight them and leave the places you don't.

Thanks for this! I've always felt the shimmer under the brow gave a really 60's bride, make up by Mum, look and never liked it on myself. Glad to know a legit mua feels the same!

totally agree Wayne! I always use a matt skincoloured eyeshadow to highlight that area.

I used to be able to do my own make-up awesomely. Then I started watching youtube, and learnt so many new techniques, I tried everything that was recommended, but it doesn't ever seem to do much for me.
This is about the 3rd video of yours now where I'm reminded to trust my own instincts with regards to what looks good on ME instead of following the rules of what is "supposed" to be done.
I NEVER used to wear a shimmer highlight under the brow, now I know why. ;) : )

I've never been a fan of shimmer on the brow bone either....so I agree with you Wayne. I hope people listen to you, because you often talk about using matte shadows in conjunction with shimmer and shine. Always a good idea IMO...esp. for an "older" eye.

I love, love, love your videos!!! Short and to the point...I like a little shimmer on my brow only when the other shadows are matt. I hate to see women with all shimmer on their eye including the brow. Keep the videos comming!!!!

I have plenty of space from crease to brow and i use shimmer there, i love the look on myself since my skin is matted down (atleast for work) it gives a nice contrast
