I'm going through the top 20 Favorite Video Game Songs of all time as voted on by my community. This came in at number 12!

While it took me a while to jump on the Undertale cover train of 2016, I played Undertale very close to release and was blown away much like most who played the game. I remember distinctly sitting in a video game bar playing on my laptop not realizing that I was coming to the close of the pacifist run and had to hold myself back from LITERALLY crying in the club.

I've always loved this song and being the second time I've covered it, I went as big as I could with it. With the inclusion of Save the World at the end, I arranged a full orchestra just to set the size I wanted to go for. I knew it would be very far back in the mix even while doing so, but I focused on really highlighting what's important here rather than trying to let everything be heard. The entire session file had 123 individual track channels of different instruments from accordions, ocarinas, atmosphere synths, and even vibraphone. I really poured a lot into this one and hope it comes across.

Everyone seems to focus on Megalovania, but Hopes and Dreams was always my top song from Undertale. After everything (and despite everything), finally overcoming all those challenges, experiencing all those characters, this song was so inspiring and encouraging. The greatest moment in my gaming life may not have come directly from Undertale, but Hopes and Dreams / SAVE the World were the soundtrack for it as it happened. 3 and a half years of buildup came down to one moment and hearing this made me relive it in my head all over again. My community might not be able to save every player that is looking for help, but when enough of us come together, it feels like we really can save the world. Thank you.

I honestly see Hopes and Dream along with Save the World as my "fight song" of sorts. I say this cause it encapsulates how i felt when in high school, the ups and the downs. I almost didnt make it to the stage, almost didnt get to toss my graduation cap and scream into the sky in victory over my pesonal demon at the time. Save the World is how i felt during the graduation, all the hope and happiness busrting out in one big burst. So i know no one will probably read this but stay strong. And thanks jules for covering this song. Brought me to tears.
