Sanicola was a sicilian mafioso. A boxer, a piano player, he's the one that got the gigs at the mob clubs and roadhouses in the 30's through his sicilian connections and he'd hire Frank to sing to accompany him. Sanicola put Frank on the map, introduced him to all his wise guy friends. Sanicola got the publishing but the question is who did he have to kick up to. Prob Gambino in New York as Gambino was sicilian like Frank and Sanicola. Franks friend Giancana on the other hand was American born from Italian immigrants.
