Everything you said Colette is so true. As I get older, I am 68 the more I am connecting to mother nature. I am lucky that the countryside is on my doorstop so I can go for walks with my dogs to enjoy it. I get pleasure from the animals in my garden (even the rats) I have noticed over the years that I am never overrun with them, they come & go, going about their business & they don't bother me in the slightest. I have the same bird visitors every day including a pigeon that waits on my roof if I am out, to be fed. I don't watch television anymore, but still have one as my husband does, but it just does not interest me any more. Life is good.

Couldn't agree more, Colette! The Dark Ages also sometimes refers to a lack of written records at that time. This is why in these dark times I keep a journal of my everyday life, no matter how dull, and always recording the wonderful things no matter how small! It's been a great comfort to me and looking back at my journals over the years shows me how every single day is different and every day has always offered me something to write about!
