Miss Haversham purposely raised Estella to have a cruel heart so that she could vicariously re live through Stella, because Miss Havisham had been spurned and become brokenhearted . Haversham attempts to put an emotional dagger through Pips heart via Estella (whom she raised to be cruel ) Quite Cruel, but one must also feel pity for Haversham because she is driven by heartache.

I read it in high school, and although I didn't want to enjoy it, I did end up enjoying it.

Still on chapter 4... YASS to that black lipstick! I totally couldn't understand it either. Hence the reason I'm still on chapter four. XD This was a great review! :)
