It Worked after I changed the straps to a configuration that made no sense at all they sort of had them bent the wrong way with the arc opposite of the application - If you have a problem try reversing the straps - Thanks for the Video

For the folks that cannot get the racks to unlock: The strap has been installed upside down, and the teeth will not allow it to release. You will need to un-install the plastic legs, remove the black plastic cover, and finally remove the 2 pins holding the lock together (one is silver, one is brass) replacing the pins is tricky; but it’s the only way to flip the metal straps into the correct position. If the rack is already installed on the car- I suggest carefully cutting the straps…

how do you get the mothers off? There's a lock, so the designer must have believed they could be easily stolen....anyone know any thieves who know the secret to undoing these things?

I got them all together thanks to this video, thank you! However, on one end I put the metal strap in wrong direction, now I cant remove it. Anyone know how I can remove it?
