A report from Parrot Analytics shows that Andor is not getting nearly the same amount of views as the other Star Wars series. But I don't think it gives us any reason to worry about the future of the series, and here is why.

I just want Lucasfilm to see on paper how good this show is. Im so happy to have a SW show where the characters actually talk to each other and investigate their beliefs and feelings and motivations. I really hope this isn't a one-off situation where we never see writing this strong again without Gilroy involved. Future shows should strive to be this good, cause it's sure making a couple recent ones look worse...

Andor is killing it. It's pure gold wrapped in mithril with a side of gold pressed latinum. I feel like it's SW moving from the value menu to the signature dish at a fine dining restaurant. I hope more people watch.

Nobody should be concerned. Andor's reviews are incredibly high amongst both critics and audiences - see rotten tomatoes, IMDB etc. At the end of the day, the reason why there's less viewership is because there are no big names in the series that general audiences know - Obi Wan and BOBF were pretty average, at times sub-par shows, yet still raked in tonnes of viewers simply because of the character IPs. I think Andor has long legs and will do well over the coming 2 years when general audiences cotton on to how good it is. One also has to remember that it's come out at the time of HoTD and ROP - the two biggest anticipated shows in the last couple of years. People don't have time to watch everything and will most likely prioritise the former two.

“In the past, the premieres would get big numbers, and then views would drop and rise and drop and SPIKE UP if a Skywalker appeared.”

You just hit the nail on its head.

I've been Really enjoying Andor. Gives me some hope for the future of the franchise.

I seriously doubt season 2 would get cancelled considering its all been planned out to a conclusion.... Disney has probably already spent the money for Season 2 since it starts filming next month and in the interim between the end of Season 1 and when season 2 premieres I willing to bet the viewership number don't dwindle... I have seen a lot of people state they are going to wait till the full season drops and then binge watch it... I know for a fact once the season ends I will do a rewatch binge of it because it's just so good.

I LOVE Andor. I love that they are taking the time to really explore and spend time in new places. Exactly the opposite of the sequels. All they did was jump around every two seconds and have a super short attention span. They are like junk food. Andor is more like a full meal that you don't rush through. You can savor it.

This seems to be the most universally liked thing among the fan base in years. It’s a shame more people aren’t watching.

The reason I care about the ratings is that I really love Andor. I just think it is head and shoulders above Kenobi and Book of Boba, and even ahead of The Mandalorian. I’m not worried about season 2 of Andor being cancelled, I’m more concerned with encouraging Disney to make more content similar to Andor over the other live-action shows they’ve done so far. I want them to get a signal that more of this stuff should be made.

To be fair, it's viewership, not rating. Most film Oscars winner have the least viewership of that year, but it doesn't discount their greatness. They are remembered for their quality.

It's pretty simple. When Obi-Wan Kenoni was airing, I could not care less with each episode's release. Now, I wait for each new Andor's episode eagerly, with anticipation. I'm sure it's the same for quite a lot of people

Andor is a masterpiece. If you aren’t watching you’re missing the best Star Wars of the Disney era

To be honest it makes me sad to see that people aren’t excited about Andor since I personally think it might be the best piece of Star Wars media since The Clone Wars or maybe even since ROTS. After Obi Wan Kenobi (which I despised) I didn’t have much hope for it but I was really surprised at how great it is.

As you said in the beginning, Andor is doing fine. I hope that based on the great quality, it can add viewers over time as word of mouth spreads. But ultimately, it's a show about Cassian Andor. That's not supposed to be a dig againt the character, but it's clear that he isn't Obi-Wan, Boba Fett or Ahsoka. So I don't think they expected this to be a show for the masses to begin with.

To me Andor has provided the most world building to the Star Wars Universe to date. There is a bigger world out there besides Jedi and Sith and the potential for spinoffs makes me appreciate the effort that has been put into this show. This is the first time I feel like Disney has provided something in scope that is on par with an HBO series.

Thanks for that clarification at the beginning. Hopefully with House of the dragon, rings of power, and she-hulk ended. It has less competition to deal with.

Compared to Kenobi and BOBF, Andor was the show that was the least intriguing to me but after watching the show, Andor has kept me engage much more than the other two. I feel like the quality and level of filmmaking is way higher than the other two and it is becoming my favorite Star Wars shows after Mandalorian

I never expected the ratings to be overwhelming for a show about a supporting character from Rogue One, I just expected to enjoy the series, and I am

Andor couldn’t get me on « how is it gonna end? ». I know what’s coming.

Andor couldn’t really get me on « how are they getting there? ». There was already a lot around this and I didn’t care enough about Cassian to be sold on that.

Andor got me on cinematography, atmosphere, writing and the amazing world building.

Truly love this show.
