I will also add that if I'm learning anything in this class, it's the work ethic. It's pushing me to be better and work more quickly and efficently as an artist. I wouldn't say I'm any better of an artist or had an aha moment while taking this class, but I realized that Ryan is human like all of us and I'm capable of doing what he does one day. So glad he gave me a look into his world and was so open about sharing his process.

Hey Josh, thanks for sharing an in depth overview of this course and your own experience with it! Really helpful! You mentioned you tend to put too many words in your lyrics, it made me wonder: does Ryan dive into metrum and counting syllables in lyric writing? I know many experienced, talented songwriters often do this naturally and may not even be aware of how they write and rhyme lyrics. On my own songwriting journey I stared to understand much more about the internal, creative process when I started reading books on songwriting; allowing me to much better analyze my own intuitive work and how to improve it and be more consistent.

Hey Josh, I'm in the class as well and agree completely with your evaluation of how great these lessons are. Kinda like hanging with him as he works, and listening to him think out loud in a very "here's how I work" sort of way. All the time being very conscious of narrating meaningfully to his students. Wonder how much of his production process he learned from Timbaland? He's fast as hell in the DAW. (Does Mad Tasty have caffeine? - haha) Enjoy watching his creative flow.

I was also thinking that he might be commenting on the most popular postings. My group has 20 people. Not sure how to get more than are in one's group to like/comment on one's song. Curious - any idea what that little dark, lighted keyboard controller on his desk is? Loving the class. Best of luck to you through the rest of the class!

Hey man, so cool to watch this and get a feel. Thank you!
Can't wait to finally get in on that waiting list.
Looking forward to next week.

Dude your song came out so great! Thanks for sharing all this, too. I really think I’ll enroll next time the class starts, looks awesome. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share the experience!

Thanks so much man. I missed the enrollment date and you give a lot of value here. Sort of a “tldr” - excellent.

Your song actual sounds great, it has a nice groove to it :)
Thanks for taking extra time to upload such a long video, besides the course and your job!

Nice! I really like the guitar! In this course, do you record the instruments mainly or is it more using vst instruments in the software ?
I'm asking as after the kygo course I want to take one where it's more about instruments.

I'm in the class too. In regards to how he responds to people's work from the class, I think it's a crapshoot. I uploaded my project 4 minutes before someone else (who was not a member of my group of 20 people). I was able to comment and like her post even though she wasnt in my group. As you stated in the video, the featured song had 315 likes and I think once Ryan likes something, that is able to be seen by everyone in the system who is taking this class, because it is only after he commented that I could see people from other groups. Again, it wasn't the best songs he was commenting on either, it seems like he was doing this at random

I’m doing it too but not really keeping up because I’m on logic and also don’t know how to do a lot of the things he’s mentioning ibut I’ve been writing things down and it’s definitely a great way to see how tension and release is so important and the value of instinct and just experimenting.

Great videos Josh! I'm in the class as well for much the same reasons. I'm hoping to connect with people after the course because the feeedback has been amazing from likeminded people. I've been writing lyrics to my songs for over a decade. Let me know if you want to connect to keep the feedback train going and maybe we can keep helping eachother.

I like your track! I think I'll sign up for the course tomorrow. Am not sure, do you think it's ok if I use Audacity as my daw?

I’m wondering i’m a complete beginner in production. I can accompany myself on piano + sing and I’ve written an EP of 6 songs. But I only wrote the lyrics but I didn’t do any sort of production/beat making. I’ve bought Cubase pro 11, shure sm7b and I’ve got a digital piano the Roland fp30 that I can use as midi controller. But I don’t have much music theory background. But now my question will I have benefits in taking this course? Even when you know my background story…
