What are the main differences between HTML and JavaScript? If you’re learning programming you probably heard HTML and JavaScript and CSS and all these other words. HTML is a markup language. It is the markup language of the Internet. It’s basically how things are laid out on the Internet.

HTML is very different than JavaScript. Primarily in the fact that it’s not so much a programming language. As much as it is a markup language. This means that it dictates what is on the screen not how things move or how they react on the screen. Now JavaScript on the other hand… JavaScript is a programming language. And it is the programming language of the Internet. JavaScript is how the elements can move on the screen.

JavaScript is very different from HTML in that it doesn’t actually show anything. But rather displace thinks and moves around. It is how you make calls to the server and how you go up at making things move on the screen. When it comes to JavaScript it’s not so much you’re going to be learning one language vs. the other. In fact you going to be using them both together. There is no job where you are writing strictly one without having to run into the other. Commonly, it is asked if you should learn JavaScript first. Or should you learn HTML first. The reality is that it isn’t so much that one is more difficult than the other. Or want to be used in place of the other. The reality is learn HTML CSS and JavaScript. It is the way the Internet is run.

So where you a re starting to learn how to code you are trying to figure out the difference between all the different programming languages.

HTML is not a programming Language but it is a Coding one. When I first started I was confused on the difference between HTML vs Java script. Mainly because one was for programming and one was just this code you needed to learn. I figured it is a common enough question in the beginning so it is worth pointing out if your super new to this.

One of the first things you hear is HTML vs javascript for learning first. When it comes to HTML vs javascript there is one thing that can be agreed. They are not the same.
HTML is not used for programming, vs javascript on the other hand is used to actually create functionality.
