The album title is I AM based on Exodus 3:13-14. This song is about the Ten Commandments...love, truth were written on 2 stone tables...now they are written on converted hearts.

I used to think this song was about the 10 Commandments. Now I understand it's much more universal than that view. Maurice White was heavily into world spirituality that encompassed my beliefs that focused on positivity with the idea that through love we can transcend the chains of doubt that restict our full potential.

I'm blessed to have been alive during this era in music. Songs like this are the soundtrack to my childhood. I remember when this album first came out and played on the radio when i was in elementary school. What a beautiful time that was. Thank God for Earth Wind and Fire.

This song blasts off into space with the intro, takes you with it and never comes back! I saw them live and they were definitely one of the greatest all around bands I ever saw perform and that's saying a lot because people generally have their own great lists as I do.These guys could and did blow the roof off and this is just one number of a good bucket load of hits they had.That band was HOF.You love horns? Listen to this intro...you love rhythms and great vocals? Watch White, Bailey, and all the blend ins.You love songs you cannot sit still listening to without singing and dancing! LISTEN UP!

I was sitting thinking about whether it was ok to work on the sabbath day or not as a nurse and written in the stone popped in my head. God Thank you for your music and the ten commandments despite whatever inspired the writer of this song to create it. I know it comes from you just like the song “you are not alone comes from” and so many other secular songs. Lord ❤ you forever.

In the stone you’ll find true meaning. They are talking about spiritual awareness and the true Love of that. These brothers were deep. Too deep for most understanding.

Just an incredible song, lyrics and arrangements executed to perfection by one of the greatest groups of all time. I feel fortunate to have gotten to see them live in concert at New York's Madison Square Garden back in the 70's. Awesome!
