In this video of Jake and Joel are Magic, we are starting a new adventure! At three different budget levels - $10, $100, and $1000 - we are going to go over what we would buy in the Month of November at three different levels! What's more, they're going to start tracking these purchases month over month so we know how they pan out financially! 100$ to 1000$ was a big jump. Maybe a 500$ dollar segment before. You could also do individual cards and sealed for each category. Great video, this is going to be a good series

I'd spend $1000 on some sweet 7th edition foils like Final Fortune and Wrath of God.

If I ever spent $1000 on a deck I think my wife would throw my whole collection in the fireplace. Worth money and a sound investment means jack to her when I have 1000s of cards all over the living room.
I know really solid decks can be built under $25. I play some that stand against $200-$300 decks really well and I have a pretty good win ratio in both multi-player and one on one.

1000 = Mox Diamond, Grim Monolith, Survival of the Fittest (fiance already got me a Gaea's Cradle for my birthday), or 10x CL booster boxes, or 5x MH2 draft booster boxes

Honestly if anyone wants to make a modern deck with white red or black (or has lands that can be fetchable) to get a playset of arid mesa and/or marsh flats. These are low and you can pretty much get both playsets for around 100.

Unfulfilled Desires is a reserve list card that I'm still really high on. I originally bought it for Muldrotha (Since it combos with Dredge), but have also found a few other homes for it as well (Since they were so cheap).

If I was to go for a name, I'd go with "Jake and Joel's Power Purchases". It's click-baity (For MTG finance), has alliteration, invokes thoughts of the Power 9 and works because your budget limits (10 to the power of 1, 2, and 3).

1000$ I'm getting the cheapest reserve list dual a box of Double Masters and A Set Box of MH2...cheap EDH Staples if any change is left.

$100 - Academy Rector, because I'm an idiot and sold all mine a while ago
$1000 - A nice copy of Nether Void, or The Abyss + a NM Mana Drain (English Legends)

I think you should definitely try to have some kind of theme--particularly at the $1000 level, otherwise it just turns into "This is some cool shit I wanna buy." without any real rhyme or reason beyond it. For example, like Joel did with a couple of his segments like the Wilhelt connection or keeping it in Blue. It's nice to know what specifically, even if it's towards a hypothetical build, you would use a given piece for beyond "I need this for my collection."
