One other secret you have already forgotten:

Once you rescue Peach at Marrymore:
1. Return to the Mushroom Kingdom castle.
2. When you leave the castle, Peach drops down. But when she does, DO NOT APPROACH HER!
3. With Peach standing outside of the Mushroom Kingdom castle, attempt to leave her behind (instead of approaching her and recruit her a second time). Peach will say something like… well, you know.
