In Episode 130 of the Afterburn Podcast, @mikeflashmcvay is joined by Wild Weasel legend Sham “Vandal” Mann for Part IV of the SEAD series. From the early days wrenching on F-4Gs at Nellis to leading F-16CJ missions over Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom—Vandal’s story is combat aviation at its finest.

He breaks down how the Viper took over the Weasel role, what it was like flying SEAD under fire, and how the mission evolved after 9/11. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to suppress enemy air defenses in real-time over a hostile capital—this is the episode.
