Let's not forget that Solomon not only married many wives, but married women who were foreigners/didn't know the God of Israel. May this be a reminder to us as believers that we should never be unequally yoked in a romantic relationship, because if they don't know the Lord they will lead us astray. Even Nehemiah uses Solomon as an example to rebuke the Jews who married women in his time that did not know the Lord (Nehemiah 13).

I don't think Christians should in general make strong associations to any party ideology that is man made and man directed. Whether democrat or republican, politics is a worldly arena so we shouldn't identify with it nor should we rank these positions in general unless they are spiritually and/or biblically inspire. That's why I agree with fighting against the mundane acceptance of abortion but I also disagree with pitting democrats or republicans under a "more or less aligned with God" bias.
