Jonathan #Roumie on the 'Jesus Revolution' Hitting the Big Screen in 2023 | The #Dove Awards #shorts

The powerful true story of how revival, rock and roll, and young hippies on fire for Jesus changed the course of America in the 1960s and 1970s will hit theaters in February.

The "Jesus Revolution" film tells the story of a young Greg Laurie who is searching for truth in all the wrong places until he meets a hippie street preacher named Lonnie Frisbee, played by "The Chosen's" Jonathan Roumie.

Together, they, along with Pastor Chuck Smith played by Kelsey Grammer, open the doors of a Southern California church to an unexpected revival and a newfound love for Jesus that leads to a spiritual awakening.

My 10th grade health teacher, fresh out of college in 1972, walked around our school with a cardboard plaque around his neck that said JESUS LOVES YOU. Those same words were spray painted on his car. Jesus saved my life through that young man, and although I was the seed that fell on the rock back then, Jesus never stopped pursuing me my whole secular, crazy, reckless life. I was baptized again in 2010. And I love that my old teacher and I are in touch today. And I can thank him for being so bold in his faith over 40 years ago, and introducing me to my Savior. I love how He orchestrates☮️💜✝️

Yes. We were called Jesus Freaks. It was a cool name because it started out being called a "hippie" Then hippie was progressively called "freak"
So when the freaks had the Jesus revolution and accepted Christ they were special and affectionately called
"Jesus Freaks." It was an honor to be called a Jesus Freak.

I just LOVE THIS!! I wasn't a hippie, but I was saved during this Era in 1978, at age 11. It was in California. Calvary Chapel was wonderful!! Let me say, I'm even MORE PASSIONATE about Jesus than I was back then. I've grown in the Lord, but He's never grown old to me. I feel like on some days, that I just became a Christian. I NEED TO GO SEE THIS! GOD BLESS EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS MOVIE. I hope it sets a fire 🔥 in all those that see it!
