My daughter loved the warrior cats. She would tell me about all kinds of herbs in the book and they were real herbs and she could even tell me what they were used for, so it was an educational book also.

Oh btw, rollarblading is very different from rollar skating.. i think she will love it. It wont take her long to adjust.. but it is so much smoother and a lot like ice skating. One more piece of advice.... the wheels it comes with are most likely hard - they are used for outside. If she is only gojng to be using the skates inside at the rink - you need to buy a softer wheel. She will slide and skid and fall a lot if you dont get softer wheels that will stick to the rink.. its very important. She wont be able to lean into her turns like she does ice skating.. she will lose her edge and fall a lot.. hope this helps.

Happy Birthday to your daughter! The years do go by so quickly. I feel like it was only a couple of years ago I was watching the gift guide when your oldest daughter turned 13. My 13 year old daughter adores the Warrior novels. I find it difficult to keep up with what books she has already read, but I am definitely going to look into getting the collectors book for her.

I hope she has fun with the rollerblades. Those were fantastic. I couldn't figure out roller skates, so I always used blades at the rink, which also meant I never had to learn how to ice skate because I could do it so easily. It's a lot of fun!

I read the warrior books the first 6 once and I am reading them again.

Rollarblades are different from quad skates. The rink may tell her she has to remove the brakes. They mark up the floors really badly.. and most of the better rollqrblades do not come with breaks at all.

She may have trouble with those rollarblades because even if you remove the brake pads there is still a big piece of plastic sticking out the back.. it may just be on one skate. But she is used to nothing behind her skate.. so she may trip herself up a lot.. and it wont be smooth transitions.

If she really struggles you may want to look at a better brand. My son has played rollar hockey for 9 years...

In case you are wondering how she will brake? She will have to do a sideways sliding stop (like ice skating)..
