I have this knife. I've had it for several years. I've never found the need to kill a watermelon or a bottle of pop. I can't imagine ever being provoked enough to attack a perfectly good ammo box. But if I ever do find myself in one of those situations I hope I have my Cold Steel GI Tanto within arm's reach because by god I know it will get the job done. Thanks for the video.

I used to use this knife to cut asparagus on my dad’s asparagus farm. This involved shoving it into the ground thousands of times to cut the asparagus below ground level. The dirt wore the black off the tanto point. I still have the knife even though my dad and the asparagus are gone. I cleaned it up and sharpened it with a Spyderco Triangle Sharp Maker and it’s in great shape. It’s very practical for slicing, stabbing or chopping.

Let me say for a knife that will cost you roughly 25$... nothing will touch this thing. Nothing. I mean it. I bought 5 of them. I’ve got one in every car, bug out and outdoor bag. It’s bomb proof. Nearly indestructible. It chops well, has a great edge, cuts well, stabs excellently, throws well, and that spring tempered 1055 holds a great edge and is easy as all hell to sharpen. The secure ex sheath is included in the price. Easily modifiable. It’s the ultimate jack of all trades. It does everything well. Nothing about it is exceptional, but that doesn’t even matter. You are getting and EXCELLENT, and I do mean great, knife and sheath for 25$. Go buy one. You will not regret it.

This is a great knife! But are there any more tactile handles I could replace with it?  The handle is fine for throwing, but other than that there isnt much grip for the more heavy duty stuff (and I know heavy duty, I built a 4ft high 6x4 log cabin with this very knife).
