Royal Choral Society Music Director Richard Cooke, introduces his latest blog which looks at the music of Passiontide. From Victoria to Byrd, Taverner and Palestrina and beyond, there is rich abundance of works – a supply which has increased significantly in recent years with the rediscovery of works by less familiar composers.

I absolutely love this time of year in church. I started in my church choir in 1960 singing at High Mass and for me the Latin my mum taught me IS the music of the church. The Reproaches on Good Friday move me to tears. Thank you for you choices. 🎵👍🎶
