My Biggest Problem with the Pequea TT4000 Turbo Tedder #hayequipment #hay #farming

This is my biggest complaint with the Pequea TT 4000 Turbo Tedder is that the original shafts for each rotor were made of a soft steel and would break. This is the fourth shaft I have replaced and it’s supposedly an upgraded shaft. Also when these rotors fly off the tedder, the arms sometimes get bent and screw up the timing. So you need to inspect everything. Other than that, the tedder works pretty good. Supposedly the new models are good but I have not had the pleasure of using one. I .do like these tedders but this one flaw is now hopefully corrected.

Everything I've read on the internet (Famous last words, I know) leads me to believe that at some time (I'm thinking maybe 2000-2010?) Pequea sourced a lot of the internal parts of their tedders and rakes (and maybe other implements) from China, and this kind of failure was not unusual as the hours of use added up. They learned from this, and switched to using exclusively US made parts, so the newer machines did not have this failures, or certainly lasted a lot longer before failing. Nothing lasts forever. I think the replacement parts that they use for the earlier machines are of the newer higher quality and spec, so you should be good to go for a long time with the repairs you've done. I just happened to find you channel when YT suggested the removing the cover of the rake gearbox. I've subscribed, look like you have a lot of great informational videos to work through.
