Storycon | DOJ to conduct case build-up on Duterte drug war report

#Storycon | Justice Undersecretary Jesse Andres said the National Prosecution Service of the DOJ will review the House Quad Committee's recommendation and consolidate it with evidence from its own investigation to determine the charges to be filed in connection with Duterte’s drug war.

He also clarified that the potential subpoena for former President Rodrigo Duterte is not directly related to crimes against humanity.

PBBM administration is doing what's right and allowed the process of investigating the various irregularities in our country. The QUADCOM has done an excellent job on their hearings and investigation in gathering evidences enough to prosecute the alleged officials to be charged in court. DOJ has the final nail in the coffin so to speak to show the world that we have effective justice system and that there is no need for ICC to handle the case of human rights violations. We hope in future we don't have to elevate the country's issue on human rights to international court by expeditiously concluding the case against the former President, former PNP chief, and several other personalities.

Thousands will be left behind if only a few will be represented, if and when these alleged crimes against humanity will be prosecuted by the Philippine Justice System? What about a "class action lawsuit" to represent all the victims of alleged extra judicial killings?

I've been following some of your live podcasts and I appreciate your political opinions. I'm neither a lawyer nor a politician nor a supporter of Duterte or Marcos but just a concerned citizen. I know this comment might be a bit late. But I hope you can tackle this in some other time.
It is my humble opinion that the cases filed against Duterte himself may not be good for the country. However, those against Bato, Bong Go, and others should proceed. Duterte cannot be held liable for the decisions he made during the war on drugs or other decisions he believed were for the good of the country. He was our elected leader tasked with making decisions crucial to the safety, security, and welfare of all Filipinos.
The current narrative against President Duterte might discourage future presidents from making bold decisions due to fear of prosecution, which is not good for our country. Instead, we need to send signal to the public that those appointed to lead government departments must stand by their duties and responsibilities, even if it means resigning from their posts to uphold what is just and right.
I hope our lawmakers consider this perspective.
