'Oumuamua's mystery is finally solved!

The mystery of 'Oumuamua has finally been solved! At least, a new explanation of the interstellar object 'Oumuamua is the most plausible explanation published yet. No, it's not aliens, but it's amazingly cool. 'Oumuamua is a fragment of nitrogen ice shattered from an exo-Pluto in a young exoplanetary system in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy! This new work explains 'Oumuamua's weird size, shape, and mysterious acceleration it had as it was leaving our Solar System.

"Solved?" Wouldn't this just be another possible explanation? Even if it's highly probable, it can't be tested and we can no longer observe the object or gather more information on it.

I'm always hesitant to click on a video from a channel I've never seen. I'm very particular about where I get my space, astronomy and tech news. Many channels now have robot narrarrators or just surface level news. You sir, have another subscriber. Great video!

This may be the best natural explanation proposed so far, but it would still be about as exotic as an alien artifact.

This hypothesis has also been shot down recently. I found this: "In a recent attempt to explain 'Oumuamua, researchers described it as a nitrogen iceberg. But astrophysicists at Harvard say that's impossible, and explain why in a new paper published Nov. 5 in the journal New Astronomy."

Saying that something is solved in astronomy is always the most confusing thing for me. Does it mean scientists are certain of a hypothesis or does it just mean they have a hypothesis that fits very well? I mean, we can't really say that we know for sure where this object came from right ?

You said the reason why light sail isn't a good explanation is because its unlikely that would be the first alien object we find. Why is that so unlikely? How do you know what kind of alien artifacts we should or shouldn't find?

The only reason that alien technology wouldn't be a sufficient explanation for Oumuamua is that you aren't supposed to consider alien technology as an explanation for Oumuamua. Otherwise it fits just fine.

sorry nitrogen ice would have outgassed a LOT which would have been obviously cometary, which Oumuamua was not.
